The facts speak for themselves
With nearly 200 products, the VMware portfolio had become too complex. VMware listened to our customers and partners, took action and fulfilled the desire to reduce the complexity of our offerings and our time to market. This does mean some loss of granularity, but it's worth it. The new portfolio will be organized around two main offerings:
- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
VCF remains the flagship enterprise hybrid cloud solution that enables our customers to run their mission-critical and modern applications securely, stably and cost-effectively. To enable more customers to benefit from this solution, VMware has reduced the previous subscription list price and added higher support service levels, including improved support for solution activation and lifecycle management.
- VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF)
VMware vSphere Foundation is offered for mid-sized and smaller customers who require a simplified enterprise-class workload platform for their data centers. This solution includes intelligent operations management that delivers the best performance, availability and efficiency with greater visibility and insight. In addition, a trial version for VMware vSAN 100GiB has been integrated.
